Search Engine Optimization – the mystical force that drives your site to be seen by millions on the web. It has so many different meanings and labels, but what is the truth about Search Engine Optimization?
First – You need to know that there is a big difference between SEO and SEM – so let’s get that out of the way. SEM or Search Engine Marketing is the ability for advertisers, agencies, or marketing firms to pay for sponsored listing in a CPC (cost per click) or CPA (cost per action/acquisition) program, like the most known one, Google AdWords. Search engine marketing is the quick fix to traffic but also the most expensive way! So get ready to open your wallet if this is your choice. I do this as well with Google Adwords if you are interested in this approach…but you should first go with….Organic Optimization!
SEO is the methods and formulas used by…well, me, to make sure that your web site is search engine friendly. Sites that have been optimized correctly for the search engines will receive more traffic, ranking and increased revenue at no extra cost! That's right!
Is there a catch to this? Yes, a little one….okay, I have to be honest here….Your site needs to look good to those spiders, the search engine ones, so hiring a firm or myself is needed, unless you know the process! I am not talking about a flashy pretty site, spiders can’t read it…so really they are not helpful just eye-candy! It all comes down to the all mighty “keywords and content” – you want to be sure to come up on page 1 or within the first 3 pages of all major search engines when your potential client/customer types in keywords related to your product, business or services.
Search Engine Optimization started in the mid 90's when the internet was just starting to boom and masses of people were searching for information.
Entrepreneurs recognized the internet was going to mean some big changes in the world of business and a way to do business. New web sites are being developed every day and everyone is vying for the rankings to out do their competitors. Yahoo implemented what we now know as a search engine. It sent out crawlers (spiders) to index all of the content being pushed up on the web.
Soon it was realized these web page results (serps) could be manipulated to rank better and so search engine optimization was set into motion.
In today’s market the optimization game has changed and many sites now require payment into their search results and directory listings. Staying on top of the search engine algorithms and changes to the SERPS, you need an expert in your corner or at least someone like me.
I offer many different packages and work within your budget to help you get noticed!
